just baked some banana bread muffins. they smell yummy. maybe i'll have one later. also baked some healthy oatmeal raisin cookies. they have applesauce instead of oil, vegetable oil spread instead of butter, eggbeaters instead of eggs. but like, it's sorta ridiculous because i needed such small quantities of applesauce and eggbeaters, but bought like, a lot. not because i wanted to, but because the smallest containers weren't all that small. ok, i could've probably found a smaller applesauce, but that's ok. i like applesauce. and you can freeze eggbeaters, so that's what i'm doing.

the dandy warhols are cool.

so if you don't play some sort of stringed instrument, this will make no sense, but i've sorta been wondering. why are hand positions where your first finger ends up on a line note (as in line on the staff, not line on the instrument) so much more comfortable than ones where it ends up on a space? like, 1st and 3rd position are so much more natural than 2nd and 4th, but really for no good reason at all.

bought a muffin tin today. i figure with all the aluminum stuff we buy that lasts like, three uses maybe and then gets recycled, we should just buy stuff that'll last. today i felt like our apt. was a for-real apt. because we had all the stuff to make what i wanted to make. like, brown sugar and walnuts and flour and cinnamon and margarine and like, all that stuff that you're supposed to have. except college students don't have that stuff. ooh, except we did. see what i'm saying?

tomorrow will involve lots of reading. today was another beautiful day. i say you check out the eels' "mr. e's beautiful blues."

ariela is like, the nicest person ever. she played in campanile (the orchestra i play in) last year, apparently. but she only came to three weeks of rehearsals. that's so crazy. like, i played last year. we were totally in the same place. craziness.

you also might want to check out the band apples in stereo if you like that retro lo-fi sound. them or neutral milk hotel or maybe olivia tremor control.

so for the longest time i thought remy zero was a british band, but no, they're from alabama. craziness. so today i looked up the dandy warhols on amazon.com and it said under those who liked blah also like blah, the eels, supergrass, and belle and sebastian. and i'm like, dude, get out of my head. like, i just bought a supergrass cd like, a week ago. and the eels and belle and sebastian are totally bands i listen to. it just weirds me out when stuff like amazon.com is right about like, me. it makes me feel like data.

if music didn't exist, i would die.
