so today i got a package. postmodern fables. from angie. awwwww! i know. my roomies are the best (yes, that includes you, melissa). the other exciting development of the day was acquiring fish and plants and driftwood for our tank. we now have six fish that will have to brave the 1st nitrogen cycle. 5 of them are glo-tetras. they're named binky, slinky, blinky, winky, and kinky. and then we got a scissor-tailed something or other. i think it was a scissor-tailed something. it's pretty. we named her queen isabella. we refer to her as Her Majesty. later on after we get better acquainted we might call her izzy.

all the little fishes were scared at first when we put them in their new home. then we went to dinner with lyn and her sister and her parents. mi luna. it was good. and then we got back and the lights were off, so when we turned them on, all the fishes were like, sleeping and stuff. but it's been a little while and Her Majesty, at least, is swimming like a champ. the little tetras are still pretty comfortable with hanging out by the driftwood. they're teensy. they can hide underneath it and stuff. fishes are cool. i can't wait to start talking to them about stuff.

read the economist today. that was cool. and i got to read the times every day this week. i've decided that i really like that newspaper. and like, feeling like i know what's going on is totally cool.

so after 4-6 weeks when our tank's all like, settled and our water's nitrogen-cycled and stuff, we're going to get a plecostomas to eat up the algae and stuff and an angel fish or two. and maybe some of these sunburst platys. they were pretty. ooh, or the neon tetras. those were also beautiful. they're like, neon blue. but angels definitely. we're going to name one jesus, and the other will be his evil twin susej.

angie and i watched the last temptation of christ last night, which like, took a lot of liberties with the bible, which i always enjoy. and like, for a long time, jesus was doing all this stuff that's like, totally not in the bible, and like, it was this live by the ax, not love philosophy, so we started calling him susej. yeah, i guess you had to be there. the movie was ok. i only agreed to it because it was "widely banned and heavily protested." but yeah, it was only fair. it had its moments, though. like, satan (in guardian angel disguise) convinces sesuj that "there's only one woman, just many faces." so like, sesuj totally turns into a pimp. also, harvey keitel played judas and sounded like billy crystal the whole time.

remember the simpsons where lisa's like, you can't drive, dad, he has your license! and he's like, i'm going to try anyway! and he turns the key and the engine rolls over and he goes, it worked! it's a miracle! yeah, that was a good moment.

still feeling very heavy. and like there's not enough air in my lungs. and sleepy. tomorrow's an early morning. race day and all.

we saw a beautiful baby today, and this is me talking. i think most babies are really pretty ugly. but this baby was gorgeous. the most beautiful face, the most beautiful eyes. and cute and quiet in her little stroller. i wanted to tell her mommy that she's going to be like, the prettiest girl ever when she grows up. but i figure she already knows.
