apologies for not getting this entry in on time. i don't know. i was reading and then i was asleep and then it was 9:00 in the morning. yeah, i don't know.
i made these spiced apple muffins last night. they kinda suck. but it's not really my fault; it's more the fault of the sucky recipe.
yesterday i had a strange experience. i was walking up the stairs to my apartment when i looked down and saw a little blue truck, like a hot wheels truck, probably. and i'm looking at the blueness of it against the concrete and suddenly i feel this whooshing sensation and i'm in an airplane, thousands of feet above the earth, looking down at a real blue truck against the flat grayness of an interstate. and then another whoosh and i'm back inside my body and it's a toy truck again. it wasn't really a negative experience. just a little weird.
i went to the library yesterday and realized that the library is to me what the mall is for most chicks my age. before going to the library, i sat at work, looking up books, writing down call numbers. then as i walked to the library, i thought, ok, you're going straight to the second floor. straight to the PS section. you're going to pick up these books and get out of there. no going to the sale racks just to take a look. no going to the store next door just because you're there. just pick up the jeans, pay, and leave. i got out of the library thinking, good job, you got out of there in a very timely fashion. what a dork i am.
so i read chris' (chris's according to the new standards of english, but i don't like that much) suggestion last night, tomcat in love by tim o'brien. it was an interesting read. i enjoyed it. the main character was a linguistics professor, and words became so important. very cool. especially considering my obsession with words lately. a good read to take my mind off of things for a little while.
ok, well, i aim to be on time for rehearsal today, so i'm going to end here. i believe i was late to every single class i attended this week. i guess it's appropriate that i was late with this post. but don't worry, all. we'll get back on track tonight.
