no one listens to coldplay. this is a tragedy. they're really quite good. i would recommend 'yellow' or 'shiver' for your first listen. i've been trying to read the postmodern condition all evening. trying. there are just those days when your brain doesn't function all that well. at least my 9:25 is cancelled tomorrow.

i've been sleeping a lot. no, like, ridiculous amounts. i'm guessing that can't be a bad thing. my mind was so full of things to say about five minutes ago. then i read the onion and followed a link to swapit.com. angie and i first encountered swapit.com in boston, but i never really looked into it. seems like a good idea, though. trade cds you don't want for ones that you do. the logistics look a bit too complicated for me to actually follow through on this one, though.

happy music makes you happier. i'm making a happy playlist sometime soon. i'm grasping at straws, you know. anything.

modernhumorist.com is so funny. why do fewer people visit modern humorist than the onion? i think it's because of the slower-loading design. and the scattered disorganized format. but it's so funny. trust me.

"Die. Then, when your friends are using a Ouija board, keep making the pointer spell out 'You all suck.'"

see, now that's amusing. and it totally loaded way faster than i remembered. maybe they did a redesign.

listening to air. afternoon sister. what a great song. what a great score. you know what else is good stuff? philip glass. i finally decided. you know what else? rhapsody in blue is a really long song. 16:27. oh, but in-a-gadda-da-vida is even longer. 17:02. remember the simpsons where bart gets the congregation to do "in the garden of eden" for the hymn? what a prankster.

you know what else is good stuff? grandaddy. yeah, it's a stupid name for a band. i agree. but mellow, yummy stuff for the most part. i recommend 'so you'll aim toward the sky' and 'he's the pilot.' they have this little bit of electronica in their folkiness that makes it extra cool. our internet connection is acting up. once again, someone is happy to be the proxy.

ok, i guess i should return to my lyotard. jonathan always used to say 'positive things happen to positive thinkers,' which, trust me, was annoying as hell (and still is) but we're going to give it another shot. hell, it can't be a negative thing. unless i actively start thinking positively and things don't get better and then i'm crushed by the failure of my experiment.

oh, but hey...that's not thinking positively.
