ok, i do think that everyone should own pavement's terror twilight album. seriously. beautiful stuff.
we went to see green day last night. it was lovely. there was a lot of energy in that auditorium. a lot of good vibes. the kind where you don't realize that you're jumping up and down until the song is over and you're landing on the ground. i understand there are tons of people who get all high and mighty on you and tell you they're a bunch of sellouts and not "real punk" but i don't really care what they are. they're fun. and they have melodies. and that's nice. and the lights. and the glitter. and the lights. the moment where we're standing there and a huge white beach ball or balloon or whatever is floating over the sea of people and someone taps it and it flies up ten feet and right at the apex of its arc there's a tempo change and the lights turn yellow and the big white stadium lights come on and there's this glowing ball floating in the air like some sort of miniature sun...you have to be there for this sort of thing, the complete sensory experience of it.
and then you get home and your toes are covered with what, blood, oh you weren't thinking that this maybe wasn't what you were expecting, huh.
