the sun is up, the sky is blue,
it's beautiful, and so are you...

but it's still cold in here. like a lot. i've been having some wild mood swings lately, but today is way up so that's good i guess. and last night was way down so i'm hoping this is the upswing to normal and that there won't be a downswing despu�s.

i think, by the way, that this feeling not so hot might have something to do with two days sans ice cream. i mean, when you get used to having ice cream every day and then you don't have it for two days straight you're going to be a little cranky, right? right. but today i will get helado and all will be muy bien. en serio, man. en serio.

we went to the movies last night. you want to hear something messed up about the movies? you have assigned seating. they print your ticket and it has your seat number on it. so we go in and i'm like, whatever, let's just sit. and heidi says, no, everyone's looking at the seat numbers, we have assigned seats. and i say, but that's stupid, let's just sit. and she says, it's stupid but everyone's doing it. and i say, but it's stupid, and she says, hey, that doesn't mean that it can't be, and that's when i decided she was right, of course, so i sat in our section but i still didn't sit in my seat because, yo, that's just stupid.

we read a good poem in class today. Lo Fatal, Rub�n Dar�o. you might know it, i suppose. my favorite line in it, no hay dolor m�s grande que el dolor de ser vivo. i say that, don't i. the pain of being alive. anyway, it's a good poem, aunque it is a bit pessimistic. ok, a lot pessimistic. but i'm that kind of girl. i'm into that kind of stuff. so yeah. deal. oh, and check out the rest of it too.

i suppose i should go home for almuerzo now. and then later we'll go out to play. because like i said, it IS a brand new day.
