the other thing on my mind is john walker. you know, he's 20. that's younger than i am and he was out there fighting for the taliban and now he's in custody at some camp in afghanistan and he's 20. do i care about anything enough to fight for it, die for it, at this point in my life? i'd have to say no seeing as i'm 1) asking that question and 2) finding no answer. and that something being a religion that john walker found when he was 16. whoa. i remember when i was 16. i mean, how does that work? how? marta with her degree in arabic explains to me the promise of paradise for the muslim jihadi and i know all of that and i know there are american soldiers who are 20 and i know there are americans in the military who are 18 and can give their lives for their country but still can't buy a beer and what does that mean. see, i just don't know.
