taking down the body. what are you carrying? you must jettison it now. we wish to picture the erasure. ruin in here grows sweet. the broken, the unbroken, and the breaking. laying their nets of sound to catch the silence. a voice will say father meaning by that nothing.

i am having my ears removed. a flood of sound but less than a sound. it was the hour that if you knew what time it really was you would never ask for anything ever again. (now that i've had a drink no one can steal it from me.) our sorrows do not turn into poems. life should be more than the body's weight. what else would there be this late in the day but the desire to make amends. the story that is told just once if true and always too late. in a net i seek to hold the wind. (i do flirt with being original.)

they give you pulitzers (pulitzers!) for putting the words (not just any words, the right words) in the right order. not the most beautiful order, not the most complicated order, not the most difficult order, not the most obscure order. the right order. some things are falling into place--and the right ones, at that. who knew?
